Efficiency of Geospatial Technology and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis for Groundwater Potential Mapping in a Semi-Arid Region

The increasing water demand in Egypt causes massive stress on groundwater resources. high variability the depth, aquifer properties, terrain characteristics, and shortage of rainfall make it necessary to identify potentiality semi-arid regions. This study used possibilities multi-criteria decision approaches (MCDA), geographical information system (GIS), field data delineate potential zones Tushka area, west Lake Nasser, South Egypt. Furthermore, identification can help decision-makers better plan manage resources this promising area. Eight controlling factors were utilized achieve objective present work using analysis (MCDA) approaches, namely analytical hierarchy process (AHP) frequency ratio (FR) models. parameters integrated with geographic (GIS) develop potentialities. results revealed that moderate-potential cover approximately 61% 52% total area AHP FR models, respectively. A 44 production wells along well yield collected validate evaluated receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve. best-performing prediction rates achieved by 83% 81%, Finally, obtained indicated model performance than model.
